On Saturday, April 27 we were given the Institute on Religious Life’s Pro Fidenitate et Virtute Award for “strong love for the Church and a zealous commitment to the consecrated life.” Nearly 30 Little Sisters from all over the country attended the annual IRL conference, and the award was presented at the concluding banquet.

Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Christophe Pierre was on hand for the event and Chicago’s Cardinal Blase Cupich made a surprise appearance. The Little Sisters made the event extra-special by distributing rosaries that had been hand-made by Sisters, Residents and volunteers around the country for the occasion. These were blessed by Bishop Robert Vasa, IRL president.

The other thing that made the day extra-special was a snow storm! You can get a glimpse of it in the photos!
